Beginning Band/Symphony                                         Wednesdays from 3:15-4:00PM    
Hello Cosgriff Families, 

I am Ms. A, our new music teacher. I am excited to run our after school band program at JEC! I have taught beginning band all over the world including Philadelphia, Hawaii, Venezuela, China, the Czech Republic and Utah. I am a woodwind specialist who plays all band instruments. I love jazz, symphonic band and orchestra! I am excited to help your student find an instrument match and to teach them to play a band instrument.

Beginning Band/Symphony is for students in grades 4-8 who want to learn to play a band instrument! I am open to allowing string/violin players who want to experience playing in a symphonic setting to enroll this semester. My hope is that by next semester we have a beginning symphony orchestra. 

Instrument choices are flute, oboe, clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet, trombone, french horn, baritone, mallet percussion, snare drum, bass drum or auxiliary percussion. Please reach out if you would like to continue with your violin in middle school. 

We have flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet and trombone rentals available. The cost is $40 for the year. 

Beginning Band will begin on September 6, 2023 and run through December 14th. We will rehearse in the band room.
