SURVEY IS AT BOTTOM OF LETTER INFORMATION

Dear Whitehall Parents:

We are trying to determine which Whitehall families/students are interested in virtual learning options for the 2023-2024 school year.

Virtual learning requires a commitment from parents/guardians and students that is somewhat different from in-person school. Here are some of the anticipated expectations:

Parents/guardians will:
● establish a daily routine and schedule with student
● ensure the student attends virtual school 
● assist the student as necessary, particularly if they are struggling with course content, motivation, or grades
● monitor student’s grades at least weekly in the virtual learning platform
● ensure access to needed resources and a positive learning environment
● communicate with the school when needed
● maintain a positive and supportive role
● encourage physical activity daily
● ensure your student has appropriate and sufficient reading materials to read daily

Students will:
● attend virtual learning daily
● establish daily routines and timelines to participate and engage effectively in the learning
● stay on the pace set by the virtual learning program
● complete and submit all assignments on time with integrity and academic honesty
● use a calendar to stay on track
● comply with the Whitehall School District’s Acceptable Use of Technology Agreement for Students
● read every day
● do some sort of physical activity every day

We are in the process of researching and comparing virtual learning platform providers that have current approval by the state of Montana. We will let you know more information, once a determination has been made about which programs the district will offer.
