Writing for Photography
Words can help guide understanding and bring more meaning to imagery. Through the 'Writing for Photography' workshop photographers will learn how to effectively literally express key aspects of their work to others and in turn also help them become better adjusted to talking about their work because once one can write about their work, one can talk about it. Furthermore, writing also helps guide the thinking process, can help in the process of developing images or stories and will also benefit grant writing abilities.

This workshop will take place in 3 session and you can choose which sessions you wish to attend.

1. Writing 101: logical structures and semantics.
Happening on Zoom, November 5th from 9AM to 12PM

2. Interactive session on writing story titles, summaries, captions artist statements; exploring how they can impact the way images are received.
Happening at MoTIV November 5th from 2PM to 5PM

3. Critical writing about photographic interpretations. This too will be an interactive session that will happen in person at MoTIV.
