INDIA ART FAIR DIGITAL ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE OPEN CALL – FORCES OF NATURE – APPLICATION FORM 
India Art Fair is inviting applications from digital artists to respond to the theme of the open call – Forces of Nature – to get the chance to be part of the second edition of our Digital Artists in Residence programme.

Join us and embark on a transformative artistic residency programme that explores the dynamic interplay between the environment and technology. Through this unique opportunity, we aim to inspire, inform, and provoke thoughtful and intentional conversations around a sustainable future.

Showcase your digital art as an influential tool for advocacy and awareness. Inspire action, mobilise communities, and spark conversations about the need to harmonise humanity and the environment we inhabit. “Forces of Nature” is a theme that encompasses a wide spectrum of compelling ideas, including but not limited to:

  • Sustainable Futures: Envision a world where human activities coexist harmoniously with nature. Reimagining our relationship with the environment.
  • Biodiversity and Conservation: Celebrate the beauty and diversity of life on Earth, advocating for protection and conservation of endangered species.
  • Nature's Healing Power: Explore the therapeutic and rejuvenating aspects of nature. Reflect on how a reconnection with the natural world can heal and restore the human spirit and our health and well-being, in ways both seen and unseen.

As a Digital Artist in Residence, you will have the opportunity to experiment with various digital mediums, including but not limited to:

  • Digital painting and illustration
  • 2D and 3D animation
  • Augmented reality (AR)
  • Interactive installations
  • Data visualisation
  • Digital storytelling

This programme encourages all digital artists to push the boundaries of their creativity and engage with cutting-edge technologies to convey their messages effectively.

The only requirement is the artwork submitted in your application should be created using iPad, tablet or a related technology!

Terms & Conditions

From the entries submitted, India Art Fair (IAF) will select three Digital Artists in Residence who will each create a new work using iPad Pro for a digital display at IAF 2024 in New Delhi, on the IAF website, and on any other of IAF’s approved partner platforms.

The open call for submission is open to residents of India only.

Your submission must be your own original work. If your content contains third-party material (e.g. images, video, music, etc.), you must have obtained the necessary permissions to use the material which can, if required, be submitted as documented proof.

Copyright in your submission will remain with you. However, by sharing and uploading your submission (including any text, photographs, graphics, video or audio-visual material) for this open call, you will be sharing your content with IAF who will be able to use your material in the following ways:

IAF will use your content to promote our platform or project, such as:

  • On social media, e.g. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube 

  • On our website, including those of our approved partners

  • On printed and online marketing materials, e.g. fair leaflets, signage, branding and other documents promoting the project

You agree to grant to IAF and relevant partners, free of charge, permission to use the material in any way it needs, for IAF services in any existing or future media worldwide (including on IAF’s website accessed by international users) and in perpetuity. You also permit IAF to edit the material, if necessary.

If you do not grant IAF the permission set out above on these terms please do not apply to the open call. By submitting your application with us, you are deemed to accept these Terms and Conditions.

IAF will hold and process your personal data for all purposes relating to the administration and award of this open call. IAF will not use your personal data for any other purpose except as necessary for the purposes of this open call. 

If selected, you must be available for the residency period between 7 October 2023 to 7 February 2024 to work collaboratively with IAF, as well as be able and available to travel to Delhi for the India Art Fair event in February 2024.
