Eclipse Community Ambassador Application
Thank you for applying for your organization to be a community ambassador for Sci-Tech Discovery Center's Total Eclipse of the Park!

Requirements:
Before completing the application, please ensure that your organization meets the qualifications for this program.
  • Must be a youth-serving organization (18 & under)
  • Must be located within the path of 100% totality (Click here to see if you qualify)
  • Must be located within 45 miles of Sci-Tech Discovery Center (Click here to see if you qualify)
  • Must be able to serve at least 25 youth with your program kit
  • Must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (No schools, libraries, etc.)

Timeline:
  • Applications are due by 5PM on Friday, March 1st
  • Ambassador organizations selected will be notified by Wednesday, March 6th.
  • Training will be held at Sci-Tech on a Saturday or Sunday in mid/late March. The date will be selected based on applicants' availability. The chosen date will be sent out with notice of selection.
  • Ambassador organizations will be expected to utilize their event kits with organizational youth and/or the public either on Monday, April 8th or leading up to the eclipse.

Reporting Requirements:
Ambassador organizations will be expected to report back to Sci-Tech the data listed below by April 22nd.
  1. # of youth & adults served/impacted by your programming
  2. Date, time and location of your event/programming
  3. Any demographic data collected about attendees

Organizations Selected Will Receive:
Please note that materials & training provided in this program must be used for FREE programming per the guidelines of the granting organization, the Simons Foundation. (Once your eclipse program/event is completed, materials may be utilized for any purpose.)
  • Hands-on, STEM event kits with the same activity materials as Total Eclipse of the Park
  • 3 Lesson plans and signage for all hands-on activities
  • Event planning and STEM education training for 2-4 staff or volunteers from your organization
  • A set of posters representing diverse STEM professionals in aerospace and astronomy fields
  • Up to 100 eclipse viewing glasses (Number to be determined by size of organization)
  • Public recognition of your organization on the Total Eclipse of the Park website
