Digestive Bitters
The bitter element is sometimes hard to find in our cultural cuisine and many people prefer not to eat foods with a bitter flavor such as alfalfa, bitter melon, romaine lettuce, rye, radish leaf, turnip, amaranth and quinoa. But the bitter flavor is so helpful to stimulate digestive enzymes and help alleviate many types of digestive dis-ease. It also clears excess heat from the body and supports the heart and liver, helping with inflammation, anxiety and insomnia.
So bitter herbs are a great way to get the bitter flavor with just a few drops of tincture!
This bitters formula is tasty with the addition of some sweet and aromatic ingredients, making a well rounded and delicious pre-meal treat. Especially helpful as we enter the season of heavier, heartier, (sometimes excessive) meals!
