The position of the Kitchen Assistant role will prepare food and desserts for guests and follow the Extraordinary Desserts recipes. This role will prep ingredients, adhere to the restaurant menu, and follow the food health and safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prep ingredients | measure and weigh cakes, mousses, and glazes to prepare mixtures, doughs, and fillings using scales and measuring containers | Combine measured ingredients in industrial machines such as blenders, processors, dough sheeter, ovens, stoves, and stock pots;| Mix doughs and batters to create cakes, cookies and tarts, or other products; | Roll out dough in molds, trays, or baking sheets and cook in industrial ovens and grills; | Set oven temperatures and position products for cooking and retrieve items from freezers, coolers, and dry storage as needed to prepare for the next day ;

Apply glazes, or other covers to the baked product, using spatulas or brushes and prepare for display counter;

| Check the quality of raw ingredients to ensure that standards and specifications are met and found; | Adapt the amount of ingredients to the quantity of the product required; | Check that the machinery used is in optimal condition and under health standards and regulations; | Knowledge of online ordering with vendors.

Additional responsibilities: Facility Maintenance | Dish and Equipment washing | Packing Private label items such as: caramel corn, tea, coffee, cocoa powder/sugar; and keeping inventories for Private Label bags and stickers.

Bilingual (Spanish) | Must have One (1)or more years experience in a restaurant, café or food facility preparation | Strong problem-solving and communication skills | Exceptional time management skills. | Comply with all food safety procedures| Initiative | Ability to multitask | Works well with a team | Ability to work a flexible 40-hour week with open weekend availability.

Rate | $16.85- $17/ hr + tips (with average tips $18-20/hr )
