Thanks for your interest in these great "Give Them 5 - Keep Them Alive" signs. These signs encourage the public to allow 5 feet -- about 1/2 a lane -- of passing distance between motorists and bicyclists. They do not declare anything about local ordinances (many of which mandate 5 feet) or Michigan law (which currently mandates a minimum of three feet). They can be posted wherever they are not prohibited -- and the more we can get out there, the better!
Please use this form if you can make these signs available to the public, your organization's members, customers, patrons, citizens, pupils, congregation, etc. free of charge while the offer is open and supplies last.
This form is mainly set up to let us know who is in charge of making an organization / location available for the public or your members, employees, etc. to pick up signs while supplies last -- during normal hours of operation and with the organization's prevailing policies. We supply the physical signs to groups inside our local metropolitan planning organization. If your organization is outside of this geographical footprint we may be able to help in another way -- so by all means please complete the form and we will follow up.
For personal use, signs are available at a variety of locations, including many bike shops -- see the list of locations at

We will gain experience with this program over time. Thank you for helping this great program grow! Please thank Bike Friendly Kalamazoo (
www.bikefriendlykalamazoo.org) and the Kalamazoo Bicycle Club (
www.kalamazoobicycleclub.org) for their role in this public education program as you see best. We welcome donations to offset costs associated with the program and others. [Photo credits go to WWMT - News Channel 3/CW7 -- thank you!]
