Thank you for your interest in serving on your neighborhood board!

The Lowry Hill East Neighborhood Association (LHENA) will be filling two open board seats on October 20 at the association's monthly board meeting. The two newly-selected board members will serve until the term is up in April 2023.

If you are a resident, property owner, or business owner within the neighborhood, you are eligible to serve on LHENA's 11-seat board. (The neighborhood is bordered by Lyndale Ave., Lake St., and Hennepin Ave.).

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Successful board members dedicate appx. 4-10 hours per month to service, actively contribute ideas and effort, and are dedicated to working to improve the Lowry Hill East (aka "the Wedge") neighborhood and this organization. Duties of the board include:

1. carrying out the mission of the association
2. attending monthly board meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm
3. fulfilling the fiduciary responsibilities standard of serving on a non-profit board
4. engage in fundraising efforts
5. participating in LHENA events and projects

HOW TO APPLY:
Candidates who are interested in applying must complete the candidate application form below. This form may be completed online by Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:59PM. Candidate nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the board meeting; candidates who submit in advance will give our board the opportunity to get to know your platform and background in advance of their vote. Candidates are not required to attend the board meeting, although it is highly encouraged. NEXT STEPS:
After completing this application, LHENA staff will connect with you. A proof of residency or property/business ownership in the neighborhood will be requested. The board vote to fill these two vacant board seats will occur at our public monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 20, 6:30pm. Candidates will be given the opportunity to give a two-minute speech. We will be meeting virtually via Zoom. Note: the current LHENA board of directors will solely decide which candidates will fill the vacant board seats by vote.
