eCYBERMISSION, a program of the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) administered by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA), is seeking applications for its Mini-Grant program for the 2023-2024 academic school year.
eCYBERMISSION is a free, online STEM competition for 6th to 9th grade students that promotes teamwork, self-discovery, and the real-life applications of STEM. Students work in teams of 2 to 4, with the help of a Team Advisor, to choose a problem in their community to explore with science or solve with engineering. Throughout the competition, students work on team building and interact with STEM professionals while competing for state, regional, and national awards. eCYBERMISSION supports phenomenon-based learning and aligns with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
The application deadline is November 16, 2023. Awardees will be notified on a rolling basis after competition registration opens in August. All teachers and students must be fully registered for the competition and on a complete team by the competition registration deadline in January/February 2024. Teachers/Team Advisors are eligible to participate in the Mini-Grant program and receive funding for up to five years but must submit a new application each year. Prior participation is not a guarantee for funding.
Teams may be formed, and projects can begin after April 1, 2023. Registration opens on our website (
www.ecybermission.com) in August. Final Mission Folder projects must be submitted online by the deadline in March 2024.
