Several years ago, The Northwoods’ Membership Committee began the “Group of 10” program to foster member connection and strengthen our church community. With COVID-19 keeping us physically distanced, we rebooted that program into something new, Northwoods Connections Groups. As we have come out of quarantine, several new groups have formed, and we hope more will! Here are your options as part of Northwoods Connections. Most groups meet once a month, although some groups may elect to meet more often.

There are two types of Connection groups:

Discussion Groups:
Members will exchange ideas through their preferred meeting style. Topics may be a monthly theme or based on group interests.

Affinity Groups:

These groups gather with a shared identity or interest, and are open to all who identify with the group or share a common interest.

Some Connection Groups meet on Zoom, some meet in person, and some do a little bit of both. Please indicate your preferences below. We'll be in touch shortly to connect you with a group.

There are two types of Connection Groups at Northwoods: Discussion groups, which are open to all, and Affinity groups, who gather based on shared interest or identity. Please indicate below which type(s) of group(s) you are interested in considering.

Discussion group (General, open to all, multiple groups meeting at different times)

Mothers' Group (open to all who identify as mothers)

LGBTQ+ Group (open to Northwoods members who identify as LGBTQ+ and allies as well as others outside the Northwoods community)

Meditation Group (Blue Mountain Meditation style)

Book Group (gather monthly to discuss a book read in common, several options available)

Other:

POSSIBLE NEW GROUPS: Below are several suggestions for specific types of Connection groups. If you are interested in being part of any of these groups, please indicate below. We'll be in touch when there is enough interest to form a group

Coffee group (General, open to all)

Dinner Group (General, open to all)

Caregiver's group (open to any who provide regular care and support for a friend or family member)

Spiritual Practice Group (led by Rev. Sarah, exploring and trying out different spiritual practices)
