Eligibility Requirements: JOUR 499 requires junior or senior standing (at least 60 completed credits) and the permission of the Internship Coordinator. All students must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average (GPA) at UNLV.

Graduate students on the Strategic Digital & Social Media track wishing to enroll in JMS 699 are required to complete a document and oral defense outlining their goals for the internship experience.

(1). I am searching for an internship in the forthcoming term. Said internship program may require my participation in activities on the campus of UNLV and may require my participation outside the campus. The University is under no obligation, nor does it undertake such obligation, to discover or know the nature of any and/or all activities, hazardous or otherwise, which may occur during this internship. (2). To the extent authorized under the laws of the State of Nevada, the University shall not be liable for any loss, damage, liability, cost or expense to the person or property of another either caused by or caused to the intern named herein, except as may be directly attributable to the negligence of the University, its officers, employees and agents. The intern named herein agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the University and any of its officers, employees, agents and students from any loss, damage, liability, cost or expense to the person or property of another caused by the intern. (3). I hereby affirm that I have the legal right to reside and work in this country (proof may be required upon acceptance into this position). (4). I hereby affirm that I have become, or will become, the beneficiary of an insurance policy that will adequately compensate me for any injury incurred as a result of my participation in the internship program specified in section (1) above.
