The LISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) was established by the Board of Trustees to assist in meeting strategic objectives to provide healthy school environments for students, staff, and community members and teaching and promoting wellness through healthy lifestyles.

The Board requires the majority of SHAC members to be parents of students enrolled in LISD schools and non-employees of LISD.

The School Health Advisory Council acts in an advisory capacity to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees.
