PLAP is committed to providing zealous representation for incarcerated people across the state of Massachusetts. Our members see our clients as human beings and treat them all with respect and kindness. Are you committed to seeing the humanity in our clients, treating them with respect, and providing them with the best representation possible? *
Every PLAPper is required to take one case per academic year. We will walk through what that looks like more during our training, but know that you will be supported when you do this! Do you understand the case taking requirement and are you comitted to taking at least one case this year? *
Every PLAPper is required to work one office hour shift a week. Office hours involve doing intake, answering phones, responding to letters, and conducting research for incarcerated clients. Each office hour shift is two hours. Do you understand the office hour requirement and are you prepared to work one 2-hour shift per week? *
For the purpose of scheduling office hours, do you speak any languages other than English? Would you be comfortable reading letters or talking on the phone in these languages? *
Though we understand that courses and other obligations are still shifting at this time, we would like to begin thinking about how we can assign Office Hours. Please select all times you believe you will be available for a two hour Office Hour slot (please choose a minimum of three slots).
