Swim meets require many volunteers, so we need your help!

Volunteer Commitment for 1 swimmer = 3 meet halves

Volunteer Commitment for 2 or more swimmers = 5 meet halves

Many jobs at the meet require little or no experience, but there are a few Key Roles that require additional training. We are looking to fill these important positions for the 2024 Summer Season!

Please let us know if you might be willing to help in any of these roles. Especially if you are a returning team member!

KEY ROLES:

Please check the boxes for any of the key roles in which you might be interested. (You don't have to be ready make a definite commitment at this time. We will reach out with more info. The 2024 training schedule from RMAL is coming soon!)

Starter (Need 1-2) Training Required. Notifies swimmers to approach the blocks & take their marks, then presses starter button to start each heat. Judges false starts. Needed at the 3 home meets.

Computer Operator (Need 2-3) Training Required. Operates the meet computers, verifies timing results from computer and time cards. Needed at the 3 home meets.

Strokes and Turns Judge (Need 5-7) Training Required. Judges swimmers for legal strokes, turns and finishes. Volunteer slots available at mix of home and away meets.

Head Timer (Need 1-2) Coordinates all timers, holds timer meeting, starts the "backup" stopwatches each heat. Needed at the 3 home meets.

Referee (Need 1) Training required. Oversees the meet. Coordinates strokes and turns, starter and computer ops. Needed at the 3 home meets.

Clerk of Course (Need 1-2) Checks final line up and maintains flow of swimmers to the blocks for races. Coordinates all clerk of course and 8&Under helper volunteers. Needed at the 3 home meets.

National Anthem:

The meets always kick off with the national anthem. Would anyone in your family be interested in singing or playing the anthem at one of the home meets? (This *does not* fill any volunteer slots, just a fun opportunity for some time on the mic!)

Hurricane Preparedness:

We are looking for names of some extra special volunteers that might be willing to step in when we have openings at the last minute! Adding your name to this list simply gives us a resource if we find ourselves in a volunteer "emergency". Please still plan to sign up for your regular volunteer slots on the team signup genius. **Checking the box to sub for a position with "experience required" indicates you have the experience or training for that role.**
