A Vision Statement is an organization’s “future purpose”.  It helps the organization, in our case- our learning organization, define its goals, creating something to work towards in the future.

A typical vision statement is brief and succinct; it will say a lot in just a few words, so those words must be very carefully chosen.  The key to a good vision statement is to think of things in a long-term, broad sense, but without sounding generic.

It won't be too specific and will be applicable five years down the road.

Our School Improvement Team used qualitative data to help put the following vision statements out to the community for a vote.
