Rensselaer Faculty and Staff Workshop:  Active Learning Examples to Keep Your Students Engaged
A very simple definition of active learning is when students participate in any type of course activity other than watching or listening to a lecture. Faculty at Rensselaer work hard to incorporate other activities into their lectures to promote student participation and engagement with the course content. Here at Rensselaer we are also encouraging the flipped classroom environment which supports additional learning activities both inside and outside of the classroom.

If you are interested in hearing more about various active learning exercises that you may be able to implement into your course, then this workshop is for you.  Please join me to discuss the practice of active learning, the benefits, and some of the more popular active learning exercises.

This workshop will be held on Friday, March 6th from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Beta Classroom located on the first floor of Folsom Library. Note: Food or beverages are not allowed in the Beta Classroom.

Please bring a laptop or mobile device.

Maureen Fodera (Office of Undergraduate Education) will be presenting this workshop.

Please register by Monday, March 2nd. Space is limited.
