ACEs or Adverse Childhood Experiences are traumatic experiences in childhood and the teenage years that may put children at risk for violence, chronic health problems, mental illness, and substance abuse in adulthood. ACEs can impact all children and families, regardless of race/ethnicity, income, location, or education levels. These ACEs are universal and a public health issue that need to be addressed!
