The Southwest Women’s Fiber Arts Collective is a grassroots, non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Incorporated in 2005, our goal is to stimulate and support successful cottage fiber industry in the Southwest.
We foster communication and information sharing between artisans and guilds about art & craft shows, sales, workshops, classes, and teachers. By creating a networking structure we improve opportunities for everyone working in fiber arts to gain skills and financial independence.
Membership Meetings and Annual Events:
"Mental Health & Fiber Days" are informal monthly gatherings that usually occur on the 3rd Thursday of the month to socialize with other members and share our fiber art activities. Membership Meetings are held every other month to share organizational news and plan upcoming events. Both meetings occur at various times and locations. Members are notified about all details shortly before scheduled meeting dates.
Our major annual fundraising event is the "Tapestry of Talent." The amazing fiber art created by SWFAC members is showcased during this fun fashion show. As a gallery member of the Silver City Art Association, we also have an annual fiber sale in the early fall as part of the "Weekend at the Galleries" in downtown Silver City. Our members are usually joined by Weaving for Justice and the event provides amazing fiber art for sale to the community at reasonable prices.
Membership Fee and Term:
Membership is $25 for the calendar year.
We do not prorate membership during the year, but we do offer a new member special that begins the first weekend in October with our Annual Fiber Sale during the Weekend at the Galleries.
**Completion of this application and payment will give you an active SWFAC membership through December 31, 2024.**
