Annie's Answer Equine Assisted Learning & Music Therapy Camps

Camps will be held at Annie's Answer *new* facility - we now have indoor and outdoor riding arenas, climate controlled classrooms, and other exciting facilities not offered elsewhere!

Please fill out one registration form per volunteer.

June 12-16: Full Day - Beginner Horsemanship ( non-riding) Equine Assisted Learning, Equine Assisted Music Therapy

June 19-23: Full Day - Intermediate Horsemanship & Intermediate Riding (levels 4-9) Equine Assisted Learning

June 26-30: Half Day - Morning session - Preschool - Equine Assisted Learning, Equine Assisted Music Therapy (non- riding)

June 26-30: Half Day - Afternoon session - K-12 - Equine Assisted Learning, Equine Assisted Music Therapy (non riding)

July 10-14: Full Day - Beginner horsemanship & Beginner Riding (levels 1, 2, 3) Equine Assisted Learning, Equine Assisted Music Therapy

July 17-21: Full Day - Intermediate Horsemanship & Intermediate Riding (levels 4-9) Equine Assisted Learning

July 24-28: Full Day - Intermediate Horsemanship & Intermediate Riding (levels 4-9) Equine Assisted Learning

July 31-Aug 2 - Full Day Camp Care- Pre back-to-school care (Activities, games, no equine assisted learning or therapies; no riding)

Do you have any special skills or interests you'd like to use at camp or that we should know about?

E.g.: Music interest, love teaching crafts, games, interest in music/music therapy, first aid/CPR certified, studying a certain area of education or childhood development, experience with kids (teacher, youth groups, camps, sports, etc.) or anything else? *Do NOT include equine experience - it is addresses separately in next question.

Grooming

Leading - basics

Leading - can lead strong horses or keep control of a horse that has a minor spook

Equine Care experience - to demonstrate/answer camper questions, we are NOT looking for anyone to do these tasks for us. E.g.: feeding, filling water buckets, scoop manure with stall fork, give horse flakes of hay, etc.)

Mini Horses - (leading, making sure mini isn't overwhelmed by students. other volunteers will make sure students don't get toes stepped on).

Bathing horses (we have outdoor wash racks with cross ties)

Riding - (riding camps) helping students understand steering (in classroom or while mounted)

Riding - (riding camps) helping students understand riding leg & foot position (basics - not squeezing foot into horse, not having leg on flank)

Leading - (riding camps) while student is mounted and keeping focused only on horse

Side walking - (riding camps) while student is mounted and keeping focused only on student

Tacking up horses -(riding camps)- saddling - can assist with saddling (need someone to check position & girth)

Tacking up horses - (riding camps) - saddling - can saddle horse independently (basic english tack)

Tacking up horses - (intermediate riding camp only) - Bridle - can bridle horse independently

any previous equine instructor or horse camp counselor experience

What days/times would you like to volunteer?
Our camps at 9am-4pm Monday-Friday.
We offer early drop off 8-9am and late pickup 4-6pm (as needed). *

Annie's Answer Camps are located at our *new* facility at 1366 Keene South Elkhorn Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356.

Transportation is not provided, but we try to connect volunteers interested in carpooling.
