Survey of Community Safety Initiatives
Please tell us about your organization's work and how it contributes to community safety.

---

Sometimes we don’t use the language of “community safety” to describe the sort of work that helps take care of people and spaces. But this type of work is instrumental in creating safer communities for us all.

Community safety initiatives can include drop-in and recreation programs, community groups, tutoring services, food and meal supports, faith-based services, childcare, health and wellness services, tenant organizing, and so much more.

We will share this information (anonymized, if preferred) widely with the public to demonstrate what communities are already doing to create a safer city without looking to police interventions. We would love to promote the critical work your initiative is doing as a part of this campaign.

About us:

AbolitionTO Collective

We are the AbolitionTO Collective, a group of community organizers and activists based in Tkaronto. Originally we came together to organize the Abolition Convergence, and over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic have been pivoting our organizing to include broader abolition work. At the root of our work together is the belief that a decolonial abolitionist future is possible, it is a continuum of the past and present, it is happening right now.

Toronto Prisoners Rights Project

We are a grassroots movement of frontline workers, community activists, former prisoners, loved ones of those in prison and concerned community members. We are committed to coming together to demand justice for prisoners at every opportunity and working towards a world without prisons or jails.
