UW-Extension offers a FREE eight-week exercise program in Dane County for older adults. The program is designed to improve muscle strength, balance, and flexibility, with a focus on health education. The program is based on research conducted by scientists at Tufts University and includes strength and balance training. Two sessions per week are held on non-consecutive days, and participants are encouraged to pre-register and attend all sessions. A large space with chairs and weights is required, and participants are encouraged to bring their own weights. The program is free but requires a minimum of five participants to start.
