Notification of research activities at the Giant's Causeway & Causeway Coast UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Giant's Causeway & Causeway Coast UNESCO World Heritage Site (WHS) is one of the most important geological sites on Earth and is Northern Ireland's only World Heritage Site. The Site is highly designated, being also an Area of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Area of Conservation and a National Nature Reserve.

The WHS Research Advisory Group welcomes research at the WHS and aims to ensure that research activities support the management and conservation objectives outlined within the Giant's Causeway WHS Management Plan 2021-2027.
.
The Research Advisory Group requests that researchers complete this form as notification of any on-site research activities proposed within the vicinity of the WHS. This will assist with important management and conservation activities and also ensure that researchers are put in contact with relevant persons and made aware of existing data which may aid their research. Researchers are strongly encouraged to follow the best practice guidelines provided [INSERT LINK] when conducting any on-site research or survey activities. While conducting research at the WHS you are responsible for your personal safety.

Once your research outputs are compiled, please submit a summary of your findings to the WHS Research Advisory Group by emailing info@ccght.org.

*The WHS Research Advisory Group includes representatives from Queens University Belfast, Ulster University, Geological Survey NI, Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust, the National Trust and Tourism Northern Ireland. This Group was initiated on behalf of the WHS Steering Group: the management group representing the key landowners and stakeholders at the Giant's Causeway, alongside the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA). Please contact info@ccght.org for more information on WHS Management.
