CEA: Corporate Chess Championship Fair-Play Waiver (Fall 2021)

All players must agree to the following Fair-Play Agreement prior to participation in any CEA Chess Events hosted on Chess.com. Players are required to submit their chess.com username as well as their highest non-chess.com ratings. These ratings are used to determine team average ratings for better pairings. The event itself is not rated with any rating system.

By checking the boxes below, I agree to abide to the Fair-Play Agreement terms. I agree to maintain the highest possible standards of ethics and fair-play during my online chess games. This agreement is required by the CEA prior to participation in all online chess tournaments. Players found in violation of the agreement will be subject to forfeiture of their games, expulsion from the tournament, and possible sanctions by the CEA and US Chess. *

I promise to not use a cell phone, chess engine, or seek any kind of outside assistance during my games.

I promise to follow the US and FIDE Chess rules while playing my games (no communication with other players discussing games, etc)

I will be accessible to communicate with the TD if they need to reach me during my chess games.

I understand that my games may be validated by Fair Play teams from CEA and/or Chess.com for signs of fair play violations.

I understand that the CEA may penalize players, including disqualification, if fair play violations are detected.

I understand that the CEA has the sole right to interpret the results of the online tournament games.

I understand that CEA chess tournaments are 100% charity events with no individual prize money.

I understand that cheating hurts the integrity of the tournament, and reflects on my company/organization/collegiate institution's reputation, as well as my professional career.

I understand that the CEA Corporate and Collegiate Chess Championship is an unrated tournament.
