UTSC CONFERENCE GRANT APPLICATION
UTSC is committed to supporting all members in working to improve their practice in order to better meet the needs of their students. To that end, the UTSC Board of Directors will award Incentive Grants for attendance at conferences. If you are interested in applying for a grant from UTSC to attend a conference in the current school year, you must complete this application form. The Conference Grant Committee will meet three times per year to review applications. The current maximum grant is $500, and must be reimbursed directly to the member. Applications will be prioritized by submission date and available funds. Teachers are eligible to receive one grant each school year. If funds are limited, priority will be given to first time applicants.
Full Incentive Grants will be offered for CTA Conference participants from Active members. All grants include payment of the conference fee and transportation costs.
Transportation reimbursement: Airfare will be reimbursed at the lowest round-trip airfare into the airport serving the conference city. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS rate of reimbursement per mile, not to exceed the cost of the most economical coach airfare. Currently, the IRS rate is 53.5 cents per mile. All other transportation costs are the responsibility of the individual. In addition to the conference fee and covered transportation costs, this grant, if necessary, pays for substitute cost for release time and housing based on two conference participants per room.
