SFS Summer 2022 Leader in Training Application
Thank you for applying to be an SFS Leader in Training!

Here is a brief description of the camps that you will be supporting this summer:

1. Citizen Girl*
This camp center on social justice through workshops and activities that connect girls to concrete ways to lead for change, from cleaning up a local playground to making hygiene kits for the homeless and writing letters to local politicians.  Campers will take photos, write short stories, and discover a cause they care about.  Girls will draw, write, protest, knit bomb, screen print, batik, sew, and build their way to a better world!

2. smallworldwow (PS4/Kindergarten or 1st/2nd Grade)
Using art, cooking, story, music, dance, and games to connect with traditions of the world, smallworldwow focuses on the multicultural joy that comes with being a little citizen of the world. By introducing campers to new cultures each week, we empower every camper to be conscious and confident, breaking barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding.

3. Spraycation with SF Skate Club with Nico Berry snd Shawn Connelly (more details coming soon)
Skateboarding and street art go together like eggs and bacon …..Use our streets as your canvas - learn to express and develop your unique style through skateboarding and making street art.

Campers will experience the exhilarating feeling of flying over cement on a skateboard. Expert skate instructors will help push the camper’s abilities on a skateboard forward while having fun and building friendships. The SFS green top will be transformed into a skatepark with ramps, rails, boxes (that we design and make ourselves!), and other fun features so that campers can learn everything from the fundamentals of skating to more advanced skills and tricks. Campers will also dive deep into the world of street art and be able to create their own work!

4. Basketball FUNdamentals
Campers will get comfortable on the court while improving basic motor skills such as jumping, running, and sliding. For the older kids, basketball FUNdamental will offer a chance to apply the skills they’ve learned in situational play, scrimmages, and timed games.

5. River Camp- This summer each young architects will design and construct a unique contribution to a County Fair, Carnival & Circus world! Creating this whimsical theme for 2022 suggests a wide range of creative options from amusement park rides, circus wagons, show animals, agricultural displays, futuristic inventions, and more . . . . all this with a real 35-foot water river running right through it!
