Quincy Symphony Orchestra 2024 Eleanor B. Nelson Young Artist Concerto Competition
Audition date: Sunday, February 4, 2024 (Snow date: Saturday, February 24, 2024)
Audition location: Lloyd Hill Performing Arts Center, Quincy High School, 75 Russell Park, Quincy, MA
Application deadline: January 19, 2024
Application fee: $25

Competitors will be expected to perform a concerto in its entirety (all movements), from memory, accompanied by their own pianist. Competitors should prepare a piece that has an orchestra accompaniment and is at least 10 minutes. Members of the QSO will evaluate the performances and determine the winner. All decisions of the competition jury are final.

The winner of the competition will appear as the featured soloist during the QSO's Classical Concert III, which will take place at 2:30 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Lloyd Hill Performing Arts Center at Quincy High School. They will also be presented with the $1000 Robert E. Brown Scholarship.

Participant Agreement
As an entrant I agree to do the following:

a) At the audition, I agree to be prepared to perform my audition work in its entirety (ALL MOVEMENTS) from memory and provide my own accompanist.

b) I agree that if I am the winner of this competition, I will attend and be on time for all rehearsals for this concert (on April 30, 2023) as scheduled by Mr. Udagawa, and will perform the work in its entirety from memory.

c) Enclose a check for the $25 non-refundable registration fee and return the application by January 15, 2023.
