Officer Nomination Form
Thank you for your interest in nominating an Elder or Deacon to serve in our church. Please look over the Biblical qualifications for these offices in 1 Tim.3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9 and then ask the man whom you believe fits these descriptions if he would like to be considered before handing in the official nomination.

The Differences Between Elders & Deacons:
Elders are shepherds; Deacons are servants. Elders focus on the ministry of prayer and the word; Deacons focus on serving the poor and needy. Elders primarily care for people’s spiritual needs. Deacons primarily care for people’s physical needs. Elders give oversight and direction; Deacons give sympathy and service.

Questions to consider if you are nominating someone to be an Elder:
Would you go to him for biblical counsel and teaching? Is he presently an example to the flock? Is he presently serving on a ministry team? Would you want him to lead the community group that you’re in? Are you confident that he understands how to apply the gospel to everyday life?

Questions to consider if you are nominating someone to be a Deacon:
Would you say that he is someone who genuinely cares for the needy? Is he presently an example to the flock? Are you confident he will care for the affairs of the church? Does he love to serve people? Is he presently serving on a ministry team?
