SDG Summit & HLPF Political Declaration- Share your input!
Collection of inputs by Major groups and all other stakeholders

On 24 and 25 September 2019, the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will meet at summit level under the auspices of the General Assembly to review the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The General Assembly decided in 2013 that the meeting will result in a concise negotiated political declaration to be submitted for the consideration of the Assembly.

In this regard, the President of the General Assembly has appointed H.E. Ms. Sheila Gweneth Carey, Permanent Representative of the Bahamas, and H.E. Mr. Olof Skoog, Permanent Representative of Sweden, to conduct open, inclusive and transparent consultations on the political declaration.

The President of the General Assembly has also appointed H.E. Mr. Rubén Armando Escalante Hasbún, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the United Nations, to facilitate informal consultations about the organization of the activities of the forum. Upon his report, the President will decide on the format and organization of the SDG Summit.
In order to make the consultations on both the organization of the activities of the forum and on the political declaration as inclusive as possible, and to profit from the knowledge, expertise and experience of a broad range of stakeholders, this platform is open for stakeholders to share their comments, reflections and suggestions on the format of the SDG Summit and its outcomes.

The questions below are provided to help guide the contributions of stakeholders and will be summarized and brought to the attention of the above-mentioned co-facilitators.
While making suggestions, stakeholders are invited to bear in mind that the SDG Summit will last only for 9 hours and that the political declaration needs to be concise and appropriate for the Heads of State and Government to adopt.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 31st May 2019
