Time: Individual appointments for new auditionees scheduled between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Group audition begins at 10:00 AM.

Ringing Term: Auditionees selected at this full ensemble audition will be asked to commit to a minimum of a 1 year ringing term covering the 2023-2024. All members of TRR are required to audition every 2 years. The next full ensemble audition will be in 2025.

Ringer Expectations: All ringers are required to be at all TRR performances and events. TRR rehearsals are Sunday evenings from 6-9 PM at Mt. Lebanon UMC. Ringers are expected to be at all rehearsals, and any rehearsal absences must be approved by the Artistic Director.

All dates are subject to change.
Typically, not all concert holds are used during a series.
Reserve the entire day. Afternoon concerts may involved a morning set up. (Friday concerts are in the evening only.)
All ringers are required to be at all TRR performances and events.
When specific hold dates are no longer needed, their release will be communicated to you.

The audition will consist of:

Technical exercises intended to gauge rhythmic accuracy and technical proficiency
An informational interview with the directors of the ensemble
Prepared group piece: You will be asked to prepare 2 separate positions for Boar's Head Carol by Jason Krug available here: Boar’s Head Carol by Jason Krug (Handbell World cat. #MSF202077SF) Auditionees must provide their own copy of the prepared piece. (Jason Krug has two versions of Boar's Head Carol, please be sure to order this one.)
Sight-reading in a group setting: During the audition, you may be asked to sight-read at multiple positions. Music will be provided by TRR for sight-reading.

Other Details:

All equipment will be provided (7 octaves of Schulmerich handbells, 6 octaves of Malmark/Schulmerich handchimes, mallets, etc.).
Auditionees must provide gloves, music (for the prepared piece), music folder, and pencil.
All auditionees are expected to have "Piece Title" prepared to performance level.
