Cockayne Farmers Market

In the 19th century, the Cockayne Farmstead was one of many successful family farms in Marshall County.  To celebrate that agricultural history and connect the community to the farmers of today, the Cockayne Farmstead will be holding a Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 3-6 pm beginning May 29.  We are located right on Route 2, directly across the street from John Marshall High School, and just down the road from Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

Thank you for expressing interest in joining us and becoming a vendor at the market. Please read the following rules and guidelines and submit this form with all necessary permits or licenses for your products.  The fee for the market will be $10 per market, which can be paid on our website in advance, in cash at the event, or by check, made to Cockayne Farmstead and mailed to 1105 Wheeling Avenue, Glen Dale, WV.
  • All vendors are expected to sell locally (within 50 miles of Glen Dale, WV) grown and made products.
  • Vendors are expected to have proper signage including a sign with your farm's name and address as well as clearly labeling your products and prices.
  • Vendors will be provided with an area approximately 10'x10'.  Vendors are responsible for bringing whatever they require for their set-up.  This includes items such as tents, bags, change, tables, extension cords, etc.
  • Vendors set their own prices for their products. We encourage you to work with other vendors to offer competitive yet fair prices. Vendors are also responsible for collecting and reporting their own sales tax.
  • Vendors must clean up their area entirely before leaving.
  • All vendors are responsible for securing the proper permits and licenses and are expected to follow all federal, state, and county regulations governing food safety and labeling. Copies of any necessary permits or licenses must be provided to the Farmstead with your application.
  • Vendors are to follow the vendor guidelines set in place by the state of West Virginia.  These can be found in the Farmer's Market Vendor Guide at agriculture.wv.gov.
    Check guidelines here.
  • Vendors are expected to attend all market days. If you are unable to attend a market date, please contact the Farmstead at least 24 hours in advance so that we can advertise appropriately and not disappoint our customers.
  • Vendors will not sell any products until the official start time of the market and will stay until the official end time of the market.  If an unusual situation requires late arrival or early departure, please speak to a representative of the Farmstead.
