We are so excited for the 2024-2025 school year at Discovery Days Preschool! We are proud to be a 501(c)(3) non-profit, licensed child care center located in the heart of Lowry, MN. We hope you will consider enrolling your child in Discovery Days Preschool’s unique program!
Discovery Days Preschool serves three, four, and five-year-old children. Classes are held September through May, with half-day and full-day options, and we are located in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
2024-2025 Class Offerings
For children ages 3, 4, and 5 (bathroom independence required)
5 Days Per Week:
Staggered: M/W/F 7:30 - 3:30 and T/Th 7:30 - 11:30 $480/month $4,320/year
Half Days: Monday thru Friday 7:30 - 11:30 $300/month $2,700/year
3 Days Per Week
M/W/F Full Days: 7:30 - 3:30 $325/month $2,925/year
M/W/F Half Days: 7:30 - 11:30 $190/month $1,710/year
2 Days Per Week
T/Th Half Days: 7:30 - 11:30 $140/month $1,260/year
Discovery Days Preschool’s classroom is an intentionally structured space that allows the children to enhance their learning through self-directed play and discovery. We believe each child is uniquely different and should be encouraged at their own speed. Through daily play, experimentation, and exploration, our students develop skills related to problem-solving, abstract thought, language, critical thinking, and socialization based on the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (ECIPS) from the Minnesota Department of Education.
At Discovery Days Preschool, we also place great importance on exploring the natural world and learning from it. We will regularly use our surrounding outdoor environment as a learning space. We will expose the children to naturally occurring and physically stimulating learning opportunities during this time. We believe that developing a relationship with nature at a young age is essential to a child’s development and helps them to appreciate and care for the Earth into adulthood.
In addition, Discovery Days believes in connecting with the community around our school (Lowry, Glenwood, Starbuck, Kensington, etc.). We plan regular field trips to explore the communities around us, enrich the children’s lives, and broaden their horizons. Some of the field trips include Barsness Park, Glacial Lakes State Park, Runestone County Park, and Lowry Community Park.
We encourage and hope all parents find a way to be involved. Meetings and other programs are held in the evenings to allow families the opportunity to attend. Preschool families are asked to volunteer when available for field trips, classroom projects, and with fundraising efforts. We hold several fundraisers throughout the year to help fund our program and keep tuition costs down. Some of the fundraisers we ask parents to help with are our annual spaghetti feed, pizza sales, and a meat raffle.

All children entering school in MN must have an Early Childhood Screening before starting Kindergarten. This screening is best completed when your child is three years old.
