Genesis: Pathways to Success, an initiative of Ripley County Community Foundation, is offering high school students in Ripley County the opportunity to apply to become a team member of a county-wide VEX VRC High School Robotics team.
The
2023-2024 VEX VRC: Over Under is played on a 12' x 12' field using a variety of field objects. Teams play on an alliance, which is composed of two teams, in a match against another alliance. Matches consist of a 15 second Autonomous Period followed by a 1 minute 45 second Driver Controlled Period.
Practices will start after fall break (around the week of Oct. 16th) and be held on a weekly basis from 4:30 to 6:00 PM on Thursdays. Schedule is subject to change based upon student interest and availability. The team will compete in a minimum of two Saturday competitions at locations around Indiana. These dates, locations, and times will be distributed at a later date.
Practice will be held on the third floor of Kids Discovery Factory, 110 Sycamore St., Batesville, IN 47006. Transportation must be provided by a parent/guardian or student.
Cost to Participate: $50
- This fee covers the cost for your student to receive a robotics t-shirt and participate in Saturday competition (registration and transportation costs).
- A scholarship is available to waive the participation cost for any student who cannot afford the fee.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email your coach, Amelia Comer, at acomer@genesisp2s.org.
