Open Slopes PDX is an equity-driven organization that drives spatial and cultural change within snow sports by connecting with BIPOC and
LGBTQIA2+ riders of all abilities. We work to minimize barriers to participation for Black, Brown, Indigenous, and queer people.
Our BIPOC Shred mentors must identify as Black, Indigenous, or POC. Mentors for our four 2023 BIPOC Shred events will receive a $200 stipend. In the interest of safety, we will be using this form and contacting you if we need any additional information to confirm your ability to teach skills to 3-4 new riders. Mentor stipends are TBD for all other programming for Black, Brown, and Indigenous riders.
Our Queer Shred mentors must identify as LGBTQIA2+. All Queer Shred mentors volunteer their time and skills our events. To give you an idea, we hosted a queer park takeover and Gay May Jump day last year!
