"R User or R Developer? This is the question!"
R is among the most popular programming, scripting, and markup languages. A key factor in its popularity is without any doubt its approachability, also for people without a software engineering background. What does it mean to be an R user? Is there such a thing as an R developer, and (how) does it differ from being an R user? We will discuss this at a Panel Discussion at useR!2021 on Tuesday July 6th at 4 pm UTC ( Abstract available at
https://www.conftool.org/user2021/index.php?page=browseSessions&form_session=38&form_topic=0&form_tracks=8&presentations=show
) and with this form we would like to collect the perspective of the R Community, to be presented at the panel. We would be grateful if you could collaborate by answering these few questions below.
