Public Power Pledge

DTE Energy has demonstrated a lack of commitment to the safety and health of residents, through their consistent underinvestment in infrastructure and poor response to the climate crises. Simultaneously they have raised our rates and attempted to eliminate residential solar. Their consistent goal has been to put excessive profits above safety, service, and climate.

I, a resident of Ann Arbor, call upon Ann Arbor city council to support and pursue creating a municipal electric utility to replace DTE, to support all of the electric power requirements within the city, with the goal of servicing 100% of Ann Arbor and transitioning to 100% renewable and reliable energy sources in line with our A2 Zero plan.
