Our 2024 calendar spotlights the Richland County Transportation Penny program!
Just over a decade ago, residents voted to approve a referendum establishing the program, which pays for much-needed transportation projects through a 1 percent sales tax. Since then, more than 500 projects have been successfully completed, from road widenings to dirt road, intersection and sidewalk enhancements, improved bikeways and greenways, plus an expanded mass transit system.
The 2024 calendar highlights several of those projects throughout the County. Each month spotlights a different Penny project in one of the 11 County Council districts, plus The COMET, the regional transportation authority that serves our community along with parts of Lexington County and downtown Columbia.
Note: In a change from previous years, the County will make a limited run of printed calendars available.
