Policy Working Group - STEPS (Stepping Towards Policy Enhancements) is a youth led, youth run volunteer group towards foreground meaningful youth engagement in national level policies and programs focusing on young people, especially adolescent health. It will be the responsibility of the policy working group members to identify the issues and implementation gaps pertaining to Adolescent Health and devise appropriate advocacy strategies to alleviate the challenges and overcome barriers to effective programme implementation.
Vision statement - We envision a just, equitable, and sustainable world where young people are empowered & compassionate, can actively express themselves and be heard, and whose rights and freedom are upheld.
The group has the following objectives:
1. To advocate for safe and accessible health information and services for young people and adolescents
2. To advocate for evidence-based budgeting and financing for youth centric health issues
3. To advocate for a multi stakeholder accountability mechanism, including young people, which ensures access
to rights affirming health information and services and prevents financial exploitation
4. To monitor the implementation of the policies and programmes to ensure outreach to all young people and
adolescents
5. To propagate policies and programs related to young people and adolescents based on their needs and demands
Membership: You may join as individuals, not as representatives from organisations in the age group of 10 - 35 years. Membership is unpaid and voluntary. There are currently no limitations to the group’s strength; it is ever-growing
