We are searching for designers, artists, educators, architects & permaculturists to participate for a one or two week residency at Nomad City. During this time you will live in a home on wheels inside our small settlement where we built various sustainable and communal structures. While living in our nomadic village you will be encouraged to participate in our research on sustainable and communal living. You can also organize your own projects or experiments during your stay but this is not mandatory.

Accommodation
- You will sleep in a small home on wheels but there are other communal structures such as a compost toilet, rainwater shower, kitchen, atelier space... which you can use.
- As a group we will cook mainly vegetarian food, we aim to eat together every evening as a group.
- Don't bring too much stuff, we will provide fresh blankets and towels.
- Please bring ecological soap and tooth paste since we filter all the water we use on the settlement.
- We use rain water for cooking, cleaning, washing... We filter rainwater for drinking.
Cost
- We ask for a contribution of 50 EUR/week to cover the basic costs of your stay (food, infrastructure...)
- There is an exception for the *periods 15/04 - 21/04 and 22/04 - 5/05, which are free to join.
Location
- Most residencies will take place on the campus of UCLL University (Oude Luikerbaan 79, Hasselt).
- There is an exception for the *periods 15/04 - 21/04 and 22/04 - 5/05, which will occur in Kuringen (tba).
Expectations
- During your residency there is always room to initiate your own project, movie screening, talk, workshop, experiment... besides the projects that are scheduled in advance.
- You will have acces to our workshop space where we use our tools (construction, audiovisual, textile...)
- We will renew the available dates in this form while the year progresses.
- As inhabitants of Nomad City we have a halftime commitment towards the project. The other half of our time is used to do other projects, work or visit family and friends. Please be aware that we will not be present at all times during your residency. In the same sense we expect a half time commitment from you in which you can contribute to the everyday tasks at the settlement.
*The Shitty City is a festival that will occur between the periods 15/04 - 5/05. In exchange for your energy and enthusiasm you will receive free accommodation and food. You can find more information about The Shitty City here.
