The CVSC Advocacy Fellowship/Internship program will ignite the next generation of conservation advocates by working with the chosen fellows as they take a central role in our grassroots campaigns to engage record numbers of conservation voters and drive them to take action. This is currently an unpaid fellowship, but we are happy to work with students so they can receive course credit. Advocacy fellows will organize events and provide general support to CVSC staff, conducting outreach and research in support of campaigns, and learn how to use online tools and platforms to organize, educate, and drive action. This program is ideal for students who want practical experience in environmental policy and issue-based campaigns, are interested in South Carolina politics and want to get more involved, want to network with like-minded conservationists across the state, and are passionate about clean energy and protecting South Carolina’s air, land, and water. We are seeking fellows who have proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, Facebook, and Twitter, are self-starters capable of managing several tasks at once, and are available at least 10-15 hours a week.

Advocacy Fellows and Interns may be responsible for:
-Tracking and reporting on the events of partner organizations
-Managing data entry and ensuring the integrity of our data infrastructure
-Connecting citizens to the CVSC legislative action platform
-Supporting CVSC and partner organization events
-Updating various organizational tools
-Posting on CVSC social media platforms
-Developing collateral materials and graphics
-Researching complex topics and preparing reports  
-Assisting assigned staff members and perform delegated tasks as needed
