Over-Communicate:In order to deliver videos with the best quality possible, and to avoid going back and forward editing one video, it is important that you as the video editor in charge keep in touch with the project manager as much as you can.
Be the Director of the movie:Interact directly and confidently with the project manager to let them know your recommendations about what to do, contentwise (filming), so you can edit a masterpiece for them.
Get familiar with the tools we use in a daily basis:- Slack.
- Asana.
- Google Drive.
INCLUDE the following into every project you work on:- Hook.
- B-roll, graphics, texts, sound effects, zooms, etc.
- Branding, correct fonts, colors, icons, etc.
- Lower-thirds and Calls To Action.
- Intro & Outro.
- Endscreen.
- Subtitles for the Shorts.
- Copyrighted FREE music, B-roll, images and stock footage in general.
AVOID the following into every project you work on:- Gaps of silence.
- Static frames (No Zooms).
- Flat footage (No color correction/grading).
- Unclean audios.
- Awkward transitions.
