Eligibility for Awards
- The nominee must have been a resident of the City/County of Durham for two years immediately prior to nomination.
- Self-nominations will not be accepted.
- Human Relations Commissioners, Neighborhood Improvement Services staff, their family members and past awardees within the last two years are ineligibile to receive an award.
- Each candidate may be nominated in a single category only.
- All nominees must reside within the City/County of Durham.
Nomination Procedures
- The nomination form must be filled out completely.
- An individual may nominate a person or organization.
- Be brief and concise and focus on successful efforts, contributions, and accomplishments of the nominee.
- Provide specific details when describing the nominee.
Selection and Notification
- Selection of awardee will be made by members of the City of Durham's Human Relations Commission's Award Committee.

Nominations for the Human Relations Commission Awards must be received by May 22nd, 2023 by the City of Durham Human Relations Commission Awards Committee. Award recipients will be announced at the Human Relations Commission Award Ceremony on June 8th at 6pm at the Holton Career and Resource Center
(401 N Driver Street in Durham).
