Strength In Peers, a peer-run non-profit organization with offices in Harrisonburg and New Market, Virginia, offers paid internships to support individual's seeking their required 500 hours of peer work towards Peer Recovery Specialist certification. Internships are 20-to-40 hours per week depending on the intern's availability. We are accepting interns who have successfully completed their 72-hour Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) Peer Recovery Specialist training and who desire to become Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRSs) in Virginia. Internship positions are limited and competitive. Applicants must have valid driver's license and computer proficiency. Strength In Peers has two office locations. One is located in the City of Harrisonburg, Virginia and the other is located in New Market, Virginia in the Sheandoah Valley.
