Directors, Secretary, and President are two-year terms. President-elect serves 3 years in total - one year as President-Elect, one as President, and one as Past-President.

Nominated parties should:
Have a commitment to the mission of LEEF and serve its membership.
Develop knowledge of the Environmental Education profession and programs in the state.
Be professional representatives and spokespersons of LEEF and shall be prepared to provide membership/organization/ information whenever possible.
Attend all Board, assigned committee and planning meetings or send a representative. It is recommended that every Board member serve on at least one Standing Committee.
Contribute to the LEEF newsletters.
Maintain term-appropriate Board files and property.
Discuss with their replacement meeting job responsibilities, policies and procedures and ongoing projects.
Assume office after the induction ceremony at the Spring Member Meeting.
Review, revise and approve the annual budget.
Commit to donating to LEEF to enable the Board to be recognized as a 100% giving Board.
Participate in LEEF fundraising activities.
Look for sources of funding such as grants and donations.
Board Members participate in one monthly meeting (one hour) and serve on assorted ad hoc and planned committees. Board work is anticipated to take approximately 3 -10 hours each month.
The President-Elect, President, and Secretary also serve 2 additional hours per month in Executive Team committee meetings.
