Politics of the Body
Politics of the Body: Fatphobia and Body Talk is a 6-week co-curricular dialogue offered through the Syracuse University Intergroup Dialogue Program.

This dialogue will educate on Fatphobia and its connection to anti-blackness, ableism, and other systems of oppression. Participants will reflect on their relationship to their body and others bodies, including how they contribute to harm towards themselves and others.

While this is not a dialogue space where intentional weight loss, eating disorders, or exercising will be discussed; however, given how we have been socialized to discuss fatness and our bodies, it may come up within the dialogue.

Dates: Every Monday starting February 19th until April 1st (except March 11th because of Spring Break)
Time: 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Location: TBD (In Person)!

Refreshments will be served.

Registration is due by Friday, February 16. If you have questions feel free to reach out to Atiya McGhee (atmcghee@syr.edu) or Linzy Andre (landre@syr.edu)

How do you describe your body size? *
Some folks articulate their body size by the clothing size they wear (e.g., XS, 3XL, 52x36) how their body is shaped (e.g. apple/pear/box), and/or how it appears in relationship to other people and things (e.g. largest person in my friend group, built like a house). Please share as much as you are comfortable.
