The Centre for
Genomic Research (CGR) at the University of Liverpool (UoL) presents this
in-person Python for Bioinformatics wiorkshop.
Overview
Python is one of the most popular programming languages for bioinformatics and data analysis in general. It is a very flexible language with countless applications in the manipulation and processing of data files. This workshop is aimed at Python beginners and will give you transferable skills to manipulate your own data and experience in Python modules tailored specifically for bioinformatics and genomics analyses.
Who is this workshop for
This workshop is aimed at biologists who are interested in learning python programming. The workshop contents are planned with beginners to programming and Python. If in doubt, take a look at the session content below or drop Matthew Gemmell (mgemmell@liverpool.ac.uk) an email.
Date & Times: 10am-4pm (1st & 2nd May 2025)
Location: MerseyBIO, Crown St, Liverpool L69 7ZB (Google maps) Building 216, the red arrow pointing north on the top right of F8 in the Campus Map
Computers: The workshop will take place in the MerseyBio training room. You will use the computers and monitors within the room to work through the workshop practical sessions.
Catering: Will be provided for tea breaks (11:15-11:30 & 14:45-15:00) and lunch (12:30-13:30). Please fill in your dietary preferences down below.

Price
The price rates for this workshops are:
- Academic: £250
- Non higher education public institute: £350
The deadline to register is Friday 11th April noon 2025. After this date applicants will be chosen and emailed to confirm their place. Accepted applicants will be asked to pay for the workshop at this point to confirm their place.
