Nominating Committee Survey
What's this survey for?
To develop stronger lay leadership and help us fill Board and other committee positions.
The ESUC Nominating Committee is seeking congregational input to identify ways we can develop and sustain strong lay leadership at East Shore. Your responses to this survey will help us understand members' perspectives and needs when considering serving in leadership roles. We will use this information in our efforts to fill next year's Board and Nominating Committee positions.  The survey will also help us develop ways to nurture new leaders throughout the church.

What do you mean by "leadership"?
Leadership at ESUC can take many forms, including chairing the Board or committee, serving as an officer on a committee. or being a supporting member of a committee, task force, or other group.

Survey Particulars
The survey is completely optional. Please feel free to answer only the questions you wish to answer.  If you choose to engage with the survey, please include your email address and whether you wish to be contacted by a member of the Nominating Committee at the end of the survey.

ESUC seeks to develop diverse representation in lay leadership.  We want all who feel connected to ESUC to feel they are beloved, belong, and are welcome to participate in all aspects of congregational life, regardless of the length of time you’ve been a UU or associated with East Shore.

Do you experience any barriers when considering leadership roles at ESUC because of your race, ethnicity, nationality, LGBTQ+ status, faith tradition, age, disability, education, income, or other marginalized status? If so, would you be willing to discuss this further with someone on the Nominating Committee or another person in leadership you feel comfortable speaking with?

Please let us know your thoughts below, or if you'd like to speak with someone in more depth. If you have a preference for whom you'd like to contact you, please let us know.
Are there other challenges which present a barrier to considering serving on a Board, Committee or other church function? Examples may include committee meeting times, child care needs, transportation, online connectivity issues, health concerns, housing situation, and experiencing tensions related to controversial Board or committee decisions
