We are so excited to host the one and only Whapio Bartlett, here in the Midwest! This is a once in a lifetime chance to sit at the feet of our dear Elder and Grand midwife of the Cosmos to receive her extensive wisdom and guidance around the portal of Birth. Great teachings for all women in the community, sisters, & mothers, aspiring birthworkers and also for the continued education of clinically trained doulas and midwives. Come and learn the traditional ways in which we can honor and support this threshold.

The Matrona believes that childbirth is a transformative event and that pregnant women have access to altered states of consciousness which allow them to have an expanded perspective of life and themselves.
This culminates in the birthing process.
They realize that many women desire to be witnessed, rather than managed, in this extraordinary experience. In their Holistic Birth Doula Program they put a unique spin on what it really means to support and witness a woman and explore what it means to nurture a mom during her childbearing cycle.

There is space for 20 guests total.
The retreat space includes a main training room/circle space, in-house lodging, tent camping, kitchen/bar, art room, bathroom, wood-burning stove, & walkout porch to the garden. You will be held on the beautiful green grounds of the Schaffer Sanctuary on 2 acres, 30 minutes West of Indianapolis. There is a ceremony yurt for quiet reflection and integration, 2 porches for lounging in the fresh air, and fire area where we will share music and sing songs of sisterhood & the ancesters.
