Woodcock Nature Center, which is the only nature center dedicated to serving Ridgefield and Wilton, has been a resource to residents since 1972. Woodcock provides educational programming for over 4,000 learners of all ages each year including school field trips, a popular summer camp and enrichment programs, which immerse children in direct experiences with nature. We partner with local organizations to present lectures, workshops, and films, and our guided hikes, Mommy and Me classes and on-site animal encounters provide a means for the public to engage with and learn from nature. Our 150 acres of preserve, owned by the state of Connecticut and straddling both Ridgefield and Wilton, incudes 3 miles of hiking trails which remain a resource for hikers, birders and outdoor enthusiasts.

“Under the Harvest Moon” is one of the nature center’s largest annual fundraisers held in support of Woodcock’s environmental education initiatives and we are excited it is back this year! The event is publicized in the local Fairfield County areas as well as to our membership and database of over 4,000 individuals and businesses. We will have food provided by local restaurants including catering from Chefs Bernard and Sarah Bouïssou of Bernard’s, a generous wine-tasting selection is provided by Ridgefield’s Cellar XV Wines, and a tasting of craft beers is on hand for beer-loving guests. The evening includes music and a silent and live auction for a variety of popular items including VIP tickets and unique Woodcock experiences.
