Twenty-two-year-old witch, Juniper Harlow, spends her days working in her greenhouse, using her magic to coax the success of her garden. Since her youth, she has struggled with a social phobia so severe she can hardly speak to anyone. One exception is Oleander Ambrose, her parents’ ward and fellow witch; that is, until he returns from a rite of passage older and now seemingly a stranger.

Oleander Ambrose has wanted nothing more than to make Juniper his wife since childhood. He hopes that Juniper will finally acknowledge him as a man and a suitor. He wants to court Juniper properly, taking care to exercise patience with her anxieties.

His good intentions are derailed when Theo Vervain sets his sights on Juniper with his own desires of courtship. Theo sees in Juniper a meek, submissive woman that he can sculpt into a subservient wife.

Can these two childhood friends navigate their complicated feelings for each other while the pressures of their environment and the expectations of others close in around them?
